My R5 TL

This R5 TL has a license plate registration date of 27/03/1984. The car was "resting in peace" on the backyard of a nearby auto repair shop for quite some time. After a closer look I decided to try to buy it aiming to dismantle it for parts, as the car had no missing parts and looked good for the purpose.
So, in 2006 and after having located its owner, I bought it.
When I started dismantling it I discovered that the car was in a better condition then I expected. It had almost no rust and the engine and gearbox were in good condition. It was only necessary to replace oil and fluids and install a new battery in order to have a perfectly running car.
So, I decided to restore instead of dismantling it.
It took me two and a half years, with the precious help from some friends, to complete the job.
Then, when I applied for new papers in order to be able to drive the car legally, I discovered that the first registration for this car was made in Angola (a former Portuguese overseas colony) meaning that somewhere in time this car travelled from Angola (Africa) to Portugal (Europe).

The result of all this effort can be seen in the pictures below.
